My method on teaching varies from student to student because there are no two students alike. For those who have no idea about anything to do with the guitar i start from scratch with the basics and i show them what every part of the guitar is called and why it is the way it is, also how to tune a guitar as well as learn the strings and notes. Instruments: Guitar Violin Viola
My beginners start on violin, and the first few weeks learning the basics of position and posture. Then I start them with Suzuki Book 1 and supplemental rhythm and theory exercises. After book 1, I assess their progress and drive and either switch them to Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists, or have them stay through Suzuki Book 2 and 3. If my students have interest in viola, I encourage them to stay on violin until they are in high school or even longer (through Mozart concertos) if possible. Read More

I am a creative teacher that looks and listens to the individual to help them to master the musicianship to play their instrument with the best sound and learn and apply the style of music being studied. From my yoga training I apply ideas of right alignment that help the student to play ergronomically correct. From my Suzuki training, I apply the principles of beautiful sound and learning both by ear and with music. Read More

The methods through which I choose to teach vary based on each student and instrument. The individual student's age and purpose for study (what they want to get out of the lessons) also plays into any chosen methodology. What I am certain of and what I am consistant in teaching all of my students is a mastery of performance fundamentals as well as at least a rudimentary understanding of music theory. Read More

I incorporate a well-rounded approach with my students by teaching musical skills beyond their particular instruments such as aural skills and theory. I use my background and training in Kodaly and Orff to teach music like a language by directing my students through experience and practice of the concept for better understanding. I use positive reinforcement and keep things fun for all ages. In each lesson, I work on aural skills and theory through fun warm-up games that get gradually more challenging as time continues. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with simple things as rhythm exercises that awake their musical aptitudes, and also a couple of musical games that allow the children to learn music but still have fun and bring the possibility to engage a very intimate relationship with their instrument. For youngsters and adults, first of all, I try to find out their primary interests and musical preferences, in order to establish a clear and safe path to approach their learning process. Read More

My methods are widespread from conventional and modern methods using a combination of note reading, Improvisation using the Larry Carlton method and the Oscar Peterson Piano methodology. I wrote my own guitar book and have many styles of music that I teach. Very important that the student understands what they have to practice and I make sure they understand what is to be done. Using the Bastien and Alfred series on piano, All for Strings on any String instruments. Read More
