I am a determined, passionate, and motivated instructor who loves sharing my joy music with students. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music from Louisiana Tech University. Now I am studying Music Business at University of Miami. I performed in many different operas such as Cosi Fan Tutti and Amahl and the Midnight Visitors. Seeing a student take on a challenging piece is more rewarding to me than anything. When I see a student struggling, I will offer the techniques that I would typically use, however there is no ONE right way to do everything. I encourage independent learning and going beyond the lesson. IF A STUDENT ONLY IS PRACTICING WHILE IN THE LESSON, WE CANNOT ADVANCE AS QUICKLY AS I PLAN. I am student-oriented teacher. I would like the student to explain their goals to me and we will work as a team to achieve those goals. This involves choosing the music to be studied. I have plenty of ideas for beginners who want help with choosing books. Then as lessons progress, student goals can be plugged I to instruction, no matter what music they are playing or singing. With compassion and engagement, I seek to share my love of music with others. A violinist since age six, I initially majored in violin performance and later music education at Wichita State University, where I performed in the Wichita State University Symphony Orchestra. Highlights from my time here include performing with the band Kansas and with the St. Petersburg String Quartet at Carnegie Hall. Though I eventually taught reading and writing at all ages, my love of music remained as my love of teaching grew. Read More

I have been teaching flute lessons in music conservatories to students from beginner to advanced level for more than 15 years. I have also taught flute master classes and woodwind sectionals to youth ensembles and youth orchestras. My lessons allow students to develop the instrument technique and prepare repertory for recitals, marching band auditions, and college auditions. I have experience teaching music to K-2 children in private schools, and music summer camps. Read More
