Hi everyone, I am a recent graduate from Westminster Choir College holding a master's degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. I also have a bachelor's degree in music education. I really love teaching students piano because I can see their passion about music and piano. Read More

I try to provide a good balance between working on theory, technique, and repertoire, and working on aspects that might be more fun like a students favorite song. This allows the student to make progress while also keeping motivated, which is really important for long term goals. For children, the balance has to lean more towards the more entertaining aspect, because of the reduced attention span. I actively work towards getting the younger students to increase their tolerance towards difficult challenges so that they can make more overall progress. Read More

I strive to create a fun and challenging, yet comfortable environment for my students. We will always work on something that is engaging and challenging, but I will never give you music that's unattainable for your current level. Your goals will drive the direction of our lessons together. If you want to learn how to play snare drum solos, we can dive into snare drum technique. If you want to become a professional triangle player, I have plenty of triangle solos we can work on! Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my teenager years, as I began teaching private lessons 30 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio. My students have been prizewinners in many competitions, they have been distinctively passed many piano examinations with high marks. For the last 10 years, I started to focus on teaching music theory, from intermediate level to AP Music Theory, I especially enjoy teaching high schoolers who wish to learn music theory seriously. I have also done some recording at Sigma Sound in the 70's with a group that wrote its own material. I am currently playing Guitar and Mandolin in a Christian Rock band. My first love has always been teaching. I'm a people person and enjoy the one on one with a student and enjoy watching their progress and helping them grow into an accomplished musician. I have always put my students first and treated playing as a second preference. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music, pursue their dreams and make them come true! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. Because we all have different begging points. We will set the goals and achieve them together! Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Singing is a beautiful and interesting process. Read More

I began teaching during my undergraduate studies, initially starting out as a double major in performance and education. In a short time, I realized how deeply I loved working one on one with students, which led me to pursue performance full time and teach in my private studio. Once I moved to California, I began expanding my teaching to music schools (Yamaha) and have continued to work with students in a diverse array of settings (private studio, music schools, high schools, university).
