While living in Denton, Texas, I started teaching private voice and piano lessons near the end of my Master of Music studies in Vocal Performance in 2019. I was an independent contractor at three different music institutions at the time, and I taught lessons to over 30 students during the first year. For young beginners, I start off with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, as they are probably already working in this book if they are in bad at school.  Outside of that, I'll typically incorporate key beginning excercises from the Arban's Book to help develop the students sound and chops.  This was how my first teacher taught me, and I found his methods extremely helpful in my early years.  Once they're fundamentals are developed, I will begin to work on the students first recital. I'm an experienced instructor and drummer from Silver Spring, Maryland. I have been playing the drums since age six and I have been teaching drum lessons since I was fifteen. I have preformed and recorded with many different bands of many different styles of music throughout my musical career. I currently play with a Rock/Reggae group named Dale and the ZDubs which tours up and down the East Coast playing venues like the 930 club, The Norva, Ziggy's, Rams Head, Brooklyn Bowl, The Knitting Factory and more. My teaching experience really started With the DC Youth Orchestra Program as a cellist. Assisting the cello teaches with summer sessions. I also assisted at NC A T State University Orchestra. I mentored student teachers with string ensemble. Currently, I am Assistant to the Minister of Music at The Greater First Baptist Church of Washington DC.
