The most important thing to me is to make sure my students love what they do. So I like to make sure that I'm always challenging them but never pushing them too hard, helping them get better at their own pace. At the end of each lesson I like to send students with a sheet having their required and suggested practice materials for the next lesson. Obviously, sometimes it may seem like a lot of work, but it isn't expected to be perfect at every lesson! Read More

I love to sing and have a passion for music. I have been performing since I could walk. In the fall of 2012, I receive my degree from UNCG in music education. There I studied private voice for 3 years with Dr. Nancy Walker, former vice president of National Association of Teachers of singing. I also had the opportunity to sing with the University Chorale, Men's Glee, and also UNCG's all-male a capella group, Spartones. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola
It is important that each student progress at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals and expectations. Acknowledging any and all accomplishments are key to fueling the students desire to learn more. My students can expect to receive homework and practice goals after each lesson. I want to find what inspires my students so I will always tailor my instruction to their wants and desires. During each lesson, we will start with warming up through scales and stretching and then moving to our practice goals for the week, through the practice goals we can determine what next weeks lesson should look like and what the student can focus on outside of their lesson. Instruments: Piano
I was brought up learning the Suzuki Method of Piano. This method has its benefits, but I also utilize other methods such as Faber's Piano Adventures or Clark's The Music Tree. Developing a good ear is essential when trying to express yourself musically. Piano technique is also essential when trying to execute what you want at the right moment. With an emphasis on technique and listening, I motivate my students to also read the music and to interpret the only source that is made available to them. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola
I'm a creative and versatile violin/viola instructor who loves working with students of any age! I graduated from UNC Asheville in 2012 with a degree in Violin Performance, where I developed a special passion for chamber music. I currently perform with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra, where I have sat in as Concertmaster occasionally. I've had the oppurtunity to take Suzuki teacher development courses and register as a Suzuki teacher with the SAA. Read More
