My methods of teaching vary depending on the age and skill level of the student. If the student is very young, I start them on simple exercises Designed by me. As they progress, I begin to implement certain books that Ive used in my career. There are three books I use religiously, Stick Control Ted Reeds syncopation book and N.A.R.D snare drum studies. The methods that I normally use are the Alfred Basic Piano Library, and the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures. I also use technique books such as Fingerpower, Hanon, and Czerny. I always incorporate Music Theory in my lessons as well as improvisation. i am familiar with the Royal Conservatory of Music technical requirements and find them necessary to any student wanting to become proficient at piano/keyboard playing. I use may online worksheets for theory, improvisation and fun repertoire as well. i am open to the needs of the student but also have a structured method of teaching so that all aspects of the music learning process is followed.
