Therefore, its important that each student progresses at their own pace. I try to encourage this by setting realistic and attainable goals for my students at every lesson. My method is to build a solid repertoire list in whatever style of music the student prefers, and then work to a clear understanding of the characteristics necessary to sing in that style. I love having conversation with students to get to know them and find ways the music can relate to them. It also helps me make my teaching more relatable to them. I try to give all my students at least one piece of classical music to broaden their horizons and also to use the techniques they are learning in a different way. Read More

I started to teach private piano lessons since 2008, I have almost 8 years piano teaching experience. Back to my undergraduate days, I was running my home studio for 5 years in Beijing. I obtained my Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Ball State University. I graduated college in the Spring of 2020 and then proceeded to get a temporary teaching job as a orchestra director in Pike Township for the first half of the year. This was followed by an elementary teaching position in the same township. I then took a step back to focus on my playing.
