In 2021, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my Bachelor's in Music Education (EC-12). While I was there, I performed with the premier ensembles such as the UTA Jazz Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and the UTA Symphony Orchestra. My method of teaching puts emphasis on the keyboard fundamentals that develop sound piano technique. I use a systematic approach in which the student progresses from their present level, whatever it may be, beginner, intermediate, or advanced, to their next level in a reasonable time. For students at the beginning or intermediate-beginning levels, I would choose from the Faber, Albert, Leonard, or Thompson piano methods.  I always give the student after each lesson a method of practice for the music/lessons required. My Grandmother inspired me to play piano. My church taught me to sing. In high school I was involved in band and choir and was selected to tour Europe with a college group. To this day I work with foreign exchange students. In college I continued my musical studies although I majored in Public Relations. This allowed me me to take classes such as oral interpretation and work in radio/TV which enhanced my performing skills. Read More

I don't use any one method book. Instead I opt to pull from a variety of sources depending on the students age, background, and skill level. In terms of repertoire, I focus almost exclusively on classical music. While I am a fan of other genres, I also firmly believe that building a solid, classically-based technical foundation is the only way to really become proficient on any instrument. I recently finished my studies to receive my Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree from Sam Houston State University. At SHSU I gained experience working with a variety of clientele including those diagnosed with autism, dementia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and spina bifida. I also provided live percussion music with the Creative Movement Program with the dance department at Sam Houston State University. For more advanced students, I typically have a lesson plan or a direction that I want to go after assessing strengths and weaknesses. I started teaching private cello and piano lessons shortly thereafter and continued to do so through college. After graduation, teaching music truly became my passion.
