I have been teaching clarinet and piano since 2019. For each student, I focus on developing healthy practice habits (physically mentally) that allow them to be efficient and rewarded by their time spent with the instrument. I help students build a strong foundation of fundamentals so they are able to be successful working on more advanced literature. I have loved music my entire life, and I am a fun, knowledgeable and dedicated teacher of both the clarinet and the piano. After graduating with a clarinet performance degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in 2007, I have performed in many Boston and New Hampshire-area orchestras.  I am originally from the very small town of Barryville, NY, and my orchestral career has taken me to wonderful concert halls like Boston's Symphony Hall, Clevelan'ds Blossom Music Center, and New York's Carnegie Hall. For beginning students, I begin with basic open chords and scales. Once the student has basic chords down I like to teach them a song of there choosing. I found this to be one of the most rewarding experiences when I began taking lessons. For adults, I like to hear any ideas they may have and give my input and direction. Instruments: Piano Violin

For beginning piano students, I typically start with Faber's Piano Adventures. I also use these books as a foundation for intermediate students. After students have grasped the basics, I will talk with them to determine their interest in different musical styles and songs. I will then add in supplementary material to go alongside the Piano Adventures books to give them a broader range of musical ability. Violin lessons are a combination of the Suzuki Method and Strings Builders. Read More

For my keyboard students, I like to start with like bit of music theory and learn to read musical notes and proceed to closing warm up exercise and solo repertoire according to their level and interests. For my voice students, I typically focus on their genre of music and teaching their goal in singing. Depending on their goal or focus, I will introduce vocal exercise and techniques although most techniques are good to use in any kind of singing. Read More

I’m a friendly and kind teacher, and I love sharing my love of Music with students both young and old. I studied at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London before going to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester at 18. For the Clarinet, I typically use The Hendrickson Method book series with supplemental books on the side to enhance their various levels.  For flute and saxophone, I will evaluate based on the student's level. Once I have established a method book, I incorporate solos and additional techniques. I also encourage the students to bring music from their band class and/or other solos they may be working on for festivals, competitions, or auditions. Read More
