Studying music is a process of never-ending exploration. Therefore, sparking creativity and curiosity in children and adults alike is my number one priority. When a student develops a curious mindset about their instrument and the sounds they can get out of it, they will continue to investigate, experiment, and improve beyond the weekly lessons. That is when I know I have done my job! Moreover, setting the students up for success is key. Read More

Whether it is Suzuki, Gordon, Kodaly, Orff or Barry Harris, I draw from all the methodology to help all students reach their comfort zones. I will also teach how to practice your instrument-something that is often neglected. Most important,I can teach how to actively listen to music. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
Regardless of the age of the student, I want to ensure that the music we work on is both enjoyable for them and healthy for their voice. I do research for each individual student so that the correct repertoire is chosen! For beginning students who are ages 7-12, I begin with folk songs and Disney songs. These have simpler melodies and engaging text that help younger students stay interested. For beginning students that are 12-18, I will begin with folk songs and musical theatre songs, moving to art song and classical pieces. Read More
