Hello! I am a current DMA student studying Saxophone Performance at the University of Alabama, and have plenty of experience teaching saxophone (about 10 years!). Recently one of my students was selected for Red Band at this year's All-State Band Festival. I believe that each student progresses at their own pace, and each student should be evaluated for the best method of improvement. I believe in positive reinforcement. I have a very creative teaching style. My emphasis is on student-centered learning. Learning should not solely be myself giving instruction and the students listening. In order for students to grow, discovery on their part needs to happen through guided questioning. The more this happens, the more that students are inclined to make their own discoveries and become their own teachers/motivators for improvement.
