For a decade had studios in San Francisco and Silicon Valley before leaving the S.F. Bay area. For twenty years I served as a public educator teaching some, K-5 music, 1st year band and middle school orchestra. Most of my duty load was as a first year String Orchestra teacher. I believe that a strong foundation is essential for steady progress and confident performance. A comprehensive approach is my preference. Therefore, when I teach piano, I prefer Faber and Faber Piano Adventures paired with A Dozen a Day for added technique. Since many students in this school district are in band or orchestra, I usually use Essential Elements for Strings, Brass, and Woodwinds.
