My teaching experience comes from a variety of different sources for the last 8 years. During college, I taught at my alumni as a summer marching band assistant. During that time, I also taught trombone and piano lessons to students around the Waco area. I have also taught as a elementary music teacher for two years, and I bring those skills with me to my lessons studio. Encouraging them to share with their families what they are working is always a good way to assure that they'll have a good support system throughout, which normally gets them more motivated to improve. Making sure they are having a good time throughout our lesson and during their practice times is key. Currently, I teach students from schools involved in TMEA and ATSSB. My students have had success in All Region auditions, Area auditions, and solo and ensemble. I earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in 2008 and 2009 in Euphonium Performance and Music Education from the University of North Texas while studying with the renowned Dr. Brian Bowman. While there, I advanced to the final round of a United States Navy Band audition. From 2010-2019, I served as a band director in three different school districts in Texas; now I teach private lessons full-time in the North Dallas area. I try to keep things lighthearted and fun, but also demand a lot from my students and hope for regular practice to push them to new heights. Music is fun, but with hard work the lessons will pay off with the reward of improved music ability.
