I love playing and teaching the trumpet. I spent much of my time growing up involved in various musical endeavors, and performed with numerous ensembles in college. While I did not pursue a music degree, I continued to study under professional musicians, and worked diligently at my craft. Music is not my career, but it is a passion that I enjoy greatly outside of my DC office. I have performed with a wide range of groups, but have found the most enjoyment from teaching students that are just beginning their musical lives. Read More

In May 2013, I was awarded the Ethos Laureate Prize in Composition for my chamber opera Randalls Leaf and, most recently, won Peabody's Macht Orchestra Composition Competition in 2015 forPillars, erased.
