I have experience with a wide-range of children and can accommodate a variety of cognitive and emotional needs. However, I do teach all ages. My youngest student was 4, and my oldest was 72. I have been teaching violin since 2017. Every student's musical journey is unique and I work with their individual strengths to help them achieve their goals. With over a decade of experience teaching, Nerea has taught music to thousands of students in private and group lessons as well as in ensembles and schools. Although Nerea has taught and continues to teach Beginner to Advanced Violin, from ages 3 - 53, her specialty is "Fiddle" music. She is highly knowledgeable in Cape Breton, Scottish, Irish, traditional Breton, Celtic and World music. She has prepared students for Trinity and ABRSM exams, taught by ear and/or sight reading, followed diverse methods requested such as Suzuki and has prepared students for countless performances. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I tailor things to each students age, level and goals. I think anyone is able to learn an instrument and understand that we each learn and approach things differently. Some students are more oral or visual learners. I encourage students to practice at least four days a week and keep a practice log. Young stundents are rewarded by stickers for their weekly practice. Read More
