For students who are serious about learning I believe a goal-oriented approach is the best, having a certain level or certain piece to try to reach by a specific time. Accomplishing this goal and seeing the results from working through the steps needed to learn a piece is very rewarding. This leads to new goals and the motivation to learn and accomplish even more. Once the basic foundation is in place the learning will become easier and the students' enjoyment will increase. Read More

I want all of my students to enjoy playing their instruments and develop a deep love for music. I help my students set realistic and achievable goals both short term and long term. It is also important that students are aware of the progress that is made, no matter how big or small! Read More

For beginners, I typically start students off with the suzuki books to build technique, but I teach them from the classical perspective rather than the suzuki method. With intermediate and advanced students, i will introduce solo repertoire appropriate for recital performance and/or a commercial piece (fiddle tunes, pop songs, etc) that the student is interested in learning. Fiddle is my specialty, but I also teach classical violin and even my fiddle students will learn classical technique. Read More

I have performed at the Lancaster Roots & Blues Festival and the Philadelphia Folk Festivals, and my true passion is to play and share my love for music with as many people as I can. I truly believe that we all have music within. Everyone has different leanings and passions, and I see my greatest strength as helping students to discover their own personal connection to music. Whether you are looking to improve your classical technique, learn fiddle tunes, learn chords on the guitar, find your voice as a songwriter, or explore singing and vocal techniques, I hope I can be a supportive part of your journey! My goal as a Strings Instructor is to have my students be exposed to all the wonderful music that is out there in the world and to develop an appreciation for it. Some students haven't even decided what their favorite music is when they come to me. Students enjoy discovering music and it is my goal to guide them. I like to have students write out their goals as performers and musicians. Read More
Instruments: Violin Bass Guitar
I began teaching in 2020 during the pandemic. My experience during then was mostly through online lessons. During these lessons, I organized group sessions for students and recitals where they were able to showcase their ability. In 2021 I began lessons in person and also expanded to teaching bass as well. My former students currently are members of their youth orchestras as well as musicians in some of the local bands. My hope is to enable students to play whatever genre they desire, whether that be classical, jazz, or even pop. Read More
