I love teaching piano and violin lessons to students of all ages from beginner to upper intermediate levels. I studied piano performance with Robert Smith and violin performance with Percy Kalt at BYU; I have also studied with Jeffrey Shumway, former Head of Keyboard Studies, BYU and Carroll Meyer, Boise State University. For beginning students, I like the Suzuki method for violin. I've been trained in that method. I'm also very flexible and like to incorporate other styles into our lessons. I believe that students develop skills quickly when they have a good understanding of hand position, note reading and ear training. I like to start with these skills and move forward with other facets of music such as technique, stylistic training and even audition training. Read More

When first taking private viola lessons I studied Wohfahrt Etudes. Playing 1-2 level appropriate pieces is a great amount. Repertoire from the Suzuki books are fundamental stepping stones into becoming a better musician. I always enjoyed when I got to play a piece that I chose out myself, so I want to allow my students to find a piece of music on their own that they would love to play. Read More

I am a passionate instructor who absolutely loves music! I have played the violin since I was a young girl, and understand the importance of music in a child's life. I am in my last semester at Brigham Young University where I will graduate with a Bachelor's in Viola Performance.
