I am a professional singer, songwriter, pianist, recording artist and touring dancer. I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada and now reside in Nashville, Tennessee. I received my formal musical training with an ARCT in Teaching with the Royal Conservatory of Music. My performing experience plus the formal training, has awarded me the versatility to make learning stress free and fun. Ive been teaching saxophone and piano lessons professionally for the last 7 years, and have had students go on to play for the Utah All-State Jazz Band and have earned several scholarships. I encourage regular practicing and give weekly assignments that include rudiments, transcription projects, and listening assignments. I focus on the jazz language and how its been applied to modern genres like hip hop, funk, and RnB. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. All of my students will have an understanding of the system in place that allows them to chase the sound they hear in their heads.
