Also I try to understand their objective of learning music, what they wish to gain. I have always been passionate about music! I started taking lessons at 8years old and haven't stopped since. I knew right away that this was my calling, that music was going to be my life. I started teaching before I even graduated high school, helping and learning from my own instructors who helped me become a great teacher myself! I have a routine that I use for the lesson time--breath exercises followed by the vocal warm up and then working on a piece. During that process I always encourage an open dialogue between myself and every student. I want to student to feel as comfortable as possible and always have the option to ask questions and take part in their development as a singer. I believe in teaching piano students the basics and how to read music to start. I have taught using almost every piano series available. For voice students, I teach technique, do breathing and vocal exercises, and work on songs. I teach basic music reading, interpretation of songs, as well as good techique and diction.
