Hi! My name is Megan, and I have a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Choral Conducting from Andrews University. Before that, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from Southern Adventist University. Music is my passion, the guitar is my instrument. I taught myself through books, videos, mentors, loop pedals, HOURS and HOURS of practice, and 8+ years of live performance and improvisation throughout the 12+ years of being a guitarist. Because I learned on my own, I remember the speed bumps and learning curves in the beginning. I like to start by exploring where the student is at in their musical education and what they are looking to study in private lessons. From there, we build the lesson around them! Once we’ve established where to begin, I’ll ask the student to choose a piece they’d like to perform and I’ll assign them a piece of my own choice as well. For my classical students I'll typically start with art song repertoire and for musical theatre I'll choose a classic piece. Read More
