Hello, I'm Mackenzie B.. I'm currently a student at the University of Kansas for a Bachelors in Music Education. I am student teaching currently, which is my last step before receiving my degree. For piano students just starting out, I like Alfred’s basic piano library, and the Bastien piano basics. There are several other piano courses I’m excited to try as well. For both piano and voice students, I like to include a book of tunes with which the student is familiar: movie tunes, Disney songs, etc. For older students, I will focus a little more on the different time periods of music and help them to gain an appreciation for each. From there we move on: Beginner students will work on basic fundamentals. Advanced students will work on the chosen piano piece. Afterwards will discuss what next lesson's goal will be. In order for students to achieve their goals, both long-term and short-term, it is expected of them to practice at least 30 minutes a day.
