I have over 15 years of singing and performing experience. I teach beginner piano/keyboard, and all progress levels for voice lessons. I arrange a cappella music and love to coach direct a cappella groups and vocal ensembles/rock bands. I was musically trained at NYU Steinhardt, where I learned how to sing by utilizing our natural resonance, to keep the voice healthy give us longevity. For beginning students, I use Faber Methods. Once the student has progressed, I would introduce solo repertoire that supports the skills necessary for improvement. Usually, I ask students if they are DYING to learn a piece, and with that selection, I'll look for techniques that can be improved upon. For adults, I try to ask what they are interested in learning, and help gauge the technique into their learning. I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. I've been teaching since graduating high school part but I've been teaching consistently for the last 5 years since graduating college.
