I started teaching college age students as an Undergraduate as part of my vocal pedagogy class, and have also taught students for my Graduate vocal pedagogy class. I continued teaching some after the classes concluded. Early in 2013, I officially opened my own voice studio and have been taking new students ever since. I'm a musician first and foremost.  This means that it is not my 'job', it is my life!  The first concert that I produced was when I was 16 years old, and it featured the legendary jazz clarinetist Woody Herman and the Thundering Herd.  Since that time, I have been performing, conducting, producing concerts, composing music and teaching students.  I have performed with a wide variety of classical and jazz and pop musicians: from The Brubeck Brothers, Diane Schuur, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Melissa Manchester; to the Oregon String Quartet and Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra. I am a vocalist and instructor originally from Portland, Oregon. I have enjoyed performing since I was very young, and have over 15 years of vocal training. I can usually be heard singing opera and classical repertoire, but I also sing musical theater, pop, jazz, country, and contemporary styles. Before earning my bachelor's degree in K-12 Music Education in 2020, I held a longtime position as a tenor vocalist and choral leader with First Christian Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and post-degree as a K-12 music teacher in dual-language immersion public schools and technology-focused charter schools in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
