I welcome students of all ages from five years and up. My teaching experience began over 20 years ago when I taught voice lessons to several of the choir students at Choctaw High School. I am passionate about music and about helping find the unique approach for each student. Music Theory is the language of music and I focus a portion of each lesson learning that language. I do, however, encourage all my students not to sell themselves short and set high standards for themselves. I base my teaching methods on the student I am teaching. For students that are children at a beginner level, I typically begin with the essential elements of creating vocal foundation which I draw from many sources. Once we have set a good foundation, we tend to begin working on repertoire that is appropriate for the level at which they are singing, using those songs as learning opportunities. For adults, I begin by asking about the goals of the individual student and I then formulate a strategy to help the student reach their specific singing goals. Read More

I've taught in New York City, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma since 2009. In New York City, I teach theatre technique at a musical theatre school. In Los Angeles, I teach Alba Technique at an Actor's Workshop. In Oklahoma, working with children, I've taught ages 6-adult, directing musical and theatrical productions like Grease, Les Miserables, Much Ado About Nothing, and The War of the Worlds. For three summers in a row, I attended a summer program for opera in New Mexico. At LEOI, I got to work with coaches and instructors of excellent caliber and reputation in the opera world. I have also sung at Carnegie Hall with the University of Tulsa Capella Chamber Singers in which I was the soprano section leader for the year.
