For the beginner we start of with fundamental chord and note structure but I feel it is important to progress into applying these fundamentals to actually playing music as quickly as possible. I started out teaching group sessions for local singers in Southern California at no cost for 4 years starting in 2013. Eventually, students from the group classes started to seek me out for individual lessons and I was also invited to be the lead vocal coach for a singing competition called ETTV Top Stars held by ETTV America in 2017 as well as 2019. At night I founded my first rock band, Feedback, and later joined WD 40. Selected for the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in 1985, I went on to write scores for string ensembles, a passion I am pursuing as an arranger and composer. My interests are motivated by my passion for world musics and the rhythmic complexity they offer which became the subject of my thesis on Afro Cuban Rumba Guaguanco.
