I first started learning the guitar in high school. I found I had an affinity for the instrument so I continued to study classical guitar and piano in college. I first started giving lessons my junior year in college and have continued to teach ever since. I knew I wanted to be a music teacher as early as elementary school. I began my teaching experience as a Kindermusik educator; teaching music and movement to children birth -7 years old. I did this for 10 years before moving on to class room music, where I taught basic music theory at the young elementary level. During this time I began teaching private voice lessons in my home.
