I teach music to all ages, and my style varies depending on the age of the students. With young students, I may give them a little theory but more so focus on what music they like may like and want to learn. I find playing along with CDs work for some students as long they have fun. Now, I write music inspired by jazz theory (sort of) and sing and arrange jazz standards and pop tunes in ways that are the most interesting to me.
