I like to create lesson plans around what kind of music the student wants to learn. For example, most young girls want to learn Disney princess songs. So I print them off their own copies of the songs that they had expressed an interest in learning. I feel like if the student is not interested in playing or singing the music that I am giving them it could be the best curriculum in the world, but it won't help them learn if they are not actively engaged in the music they are singing or playing. My method is simple , edgy and creative the approach is extremely understandable and fun as long as the student continues to set personal time for self practice the sky is the limit I personally take student on stage to perform with my band when I feel and see they are ready they learn many original songs that I have written and help them find their confidence on stage we will work on stage presence, showmanship and most of all working in a top notch rock n roll band there is a lot of involvement when comes to performing and entertaining an audience this is a bit more than recital or playing your favorite cover song htere's alot of creativity that goes on with my methods. My teaching experience, on the individual and private level, goes back to my college days where I would tutor other students in piano to pass their keyboard barriers. While in the active duty military (I'm retired now), I provided private lessons to children and adults in my available time. It is important to remember that a student's individual practice time is invaluable; the lesson time is NOT supposed to be the first time to be reviewing an assigned piece! Read More

As stated before, my first goal is to help the student feel comfortable in the lesson. I find that without this, a student will have a hard time succeeding. I myself am classically trained. This is also how I like to train my students. With a classical base training, a student can succeed in any style of music. I like to give the student a combination of a classical song and a current song they love. Read More

As a vocalist, pianist, and performer myself I understand the importance of the technical aspects of singing, playing, and presenting efficiently. Having a strong vocal and performing techniques has helped me build my stamina, and become a more efficient vocalist, and overall performer. As an instructor I want to give my students this knowledge as well. Within my private teaching studio I am most concerned with teaching my students the basics of healthy vocal production, as well as performance, and presentation skills. From this foundation they can build their artistry in a healthy and productive manner. Read More

I have been teaching privately for 5 years, beginning while I was still in college. My students spanned every age from 3rd graders to HS seniors, and I taught them a mix of basic healthy technique and musical theory. My current students are active performers of musical theater in both public and scholastic venues. I currently teach out of my home studio, where I have a piano and an acoustically grand living space. Read More
