I have been a career educator since 1998, when I began teaching in a high school and founded a music program. I am sure I have taught literally thousands of students. I have prepared students to go on study music at the college level. Now I have my own private school and am working with Musika. I take a lot of inspiration from the teachers that I have had over the course of my own life and at times find it important to study with great masters of the musical arts! Read More

I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Electronic Production and Design. Following my graduation, I began working in the Boston area as a freelance session bassist and educator. From 2013 - 2017, I was a member of the Boston based roots rock band the Adam Ezra Group, with whom I toured internationally and opened for artists such as Willie Nelson, the Wailers, Alison Krauss, Robert Randolph, Rusted Root, the Gin Blossoms, and Robby Krieger, among others. I like to start my lessons with basic introduction to the guitar as an instrument and its components. String names, how to tune, and how to change your strings are included. Scales improve finger dexterity and teach the students about moving up and down the fretboard of a guitar. Learning basic chords is crucial for learning most modern day music. (unless it's avant garde, or experimental) We will go through basic chords one by one and chord structures. Read More

For piano I prefer the Faber series. I like to include scales, sight-reading, and repertoire of the students choosing and of my suggestion. For Voice I like to cover the anatomical fundamentals (posture, breath, phonation, and depending on age), in the first lesson, and each lesson includes a warm-up as well as at least one piece of repertoire of the students choosing. For guitar I teach note reading as well as tablature, but we mostly work from tablature, unless the student is studying classical. Read More

I began teaching as soon as I could. My dad held piano lessons out of our house and inspired me to teach guitar (the only instrument my dad wasn't terribly good at). I also taught trumpet, French horn and piano throughout high school. When I got to college, no one at Berklee really needed lessons in instruments anymore, however, I spent a lot of time tutoring kids in Music Theory, Arranging and other more technical aspects of music. Though each student gets a lesson plan that is catered to their individual needs, I start everyone off with these three questions: Which musical artists do you listen do? What do you like about their music? What are your goals with taking lessons? I use this information to teach the student how to play some of their favorite songs, how to write similar music, and how to use my lessons as a means of achieving their musical goals I have found that doing so results in faster results, and increased motivation. Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar

The ways Ive tried to make learning fun are working on students favorite songs, getting students to play with me in duets as soon as possible, and encouraging improvisation. By giving students the tools of improvisation and knowledge of chord progressions, I also encourage students to develop original songs. Through playing bass guitar for a number of years in bands, and learning and instructing piano, I am also able to offer instruction on these instruments. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
