Established New York musician. Berklee College of Music Graduate. I always loved music and listening to it with my family and friends. When I had the chance to learn and instrument and be able to actually make music, that opened my eyes to a whole new world and it changed me to become a better person and do better in other subjects. Now I have the chance to share my experience and knowledge with students and there is nothing that I enjoy more that that. Read More

Phase 1: Open Chords I like to start here because it is such a fundamental concept in guitar. No matter how long you've been playing, you will always find yourself going back to these open chords. You can build so many campfire sing-a-long songs with these chords. This section will also introduce some common rhythms and strumming patterns. The toughest part here is building finger strength but there's no better place to start! Read More

I've been performing and teaching throughout NYC for the past 10 years. Both performing and teaching useful concepts are a big passion of mine. My goal is to get you to have fun learning what you want learn and along the way we'll learn technique and other important concepts. My home base is drumset but over the years I have really honed multiple instruments in the world of the rhythm section and love teaching the roles of each instrument in this world. Read More

I usually start by assessing my student's current level. If my student is a complete beginner, I have a tried and true method of getting them started quickly. Once the student has mastered the fundamentals, I will present additional exercises and songs to work on. For students that are already experienced players, I create a lesson plan that matches their level and their goals. Usually, I work on songs, incorporate technique and music theory exercises, and do not just learn them boringly. Read More

I began teaching the summer before my last year of my undergrad (summer of 2012) I worked at a few studios outside Pittsburgh (Batavia Studios in Mars, PA and Manella Guitars in Monroeville.) Since moving to NJ I got a couple more gigs as a teacher through recommendations (Westerhoff School of Music and Art in Metuchen and Music Tech in South Brunswick.) I also have a few private students. Last summer I worked at the Rutgers Summer Jazz Institute, a one week summer camp for high school kids. Read More

For beginning students of any age, I focus a lot on technique and building good habits. I will always use Stick Control by G.L. Stone, which has great material for a beginner drummer/percussionist. This is a stage where I will lightly introduce concepts of beat, tempo and rhythm, to help establish a musical vocabulary. Once I've determined that they have a good grasp of time and rhythm, I slowly begin to introduce rudiments and reinforce them lesson by lesson. Read More
