I Have been playing the guitar for 15 years and have been teaching for 10 years. From 2005 - 2008 I studied Guitar Performance and Music Theory at The Musicians Institute of Hollywood, CA. Over the years I have played and recorded with several bands including Slow Motion Rider, Ecstatic Union, Micah Brown Band and other small projects. Aside from finding a student's learning style, my teaching method centers around creating goals that break down barriers. Most barriers are something other than a student's ability to learn. Music is a hard-learned skill, and it's all too often that many students face the hard reality of not becoming the next legend as soon as they pick up their first instrument. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students.
