For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series. Notable achievements include securing 1st Prize in the 2017 Arnuero International Chamber Music Competition, the 2013 Eastman School Concerto Competition, and the 2013 American Protege International String and Piano Competition. I find this to be an effective way to build technique while also cultivating musicality. Hi there! I'm very excited to be pursuing my lifelong passion for sharing music. I've played cello and piano since childhood and recieved my Masters in Cello Performance from the University of Redlands in May of 2014. Prior to that I recieved my Bachelors in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Northern Colorado. I've also recieved a certificate in Film and Television Scoring from the UCLA Extension. It's important to move at the student's pace - whatever speed that may be. It's important to build a solid foundation but that doesn't necessarily mean mastery or perfection. It's easy to lose interest if stuck on one piece to long so we'll move through the material as quickly or as slowly as the student desires as long as the foundation is there.
