I tend to attract many adults who always wanted to play the cello, but postponed it, and finally decided its now or never. Similarly, I teach a number of adults who played through adolescence, but quit, and now want to return to playing. I also learned to work with students with special needs in the Boston Conservatory Program for Students on the Autism Spectrum program, where I was a founding staff member. Effective music education is both developmentally and culturally appropriate: By working with the student to understand their interests, I hope to provide them with an experience that will enrich their musical and social life outside of the work we do together. Through infancy, I believe Music Learning Theory is effective for developing musical and linguistic skills. I currently maintain a small private studio, and also work with larger groups of students in workshop or masterclass settings.
