My teaching experience started several years ago when I was in high school. I was given the opportunity to teach some young beginning string players and I found that I really enjoyed seeing them develop and took great pride in their progress. I then went to college as a string player and played in multiple orchestras and took part in recitals nearly weekly during my time there. After college I started teaching private string lessons at a local music store. Read More

No matter which instrument I give lessons on, my overall goal and desire is that the student first, has FUN, second, sees themselves progressing on their instrument, and thirdly, get to experience the joy, satisfaction and confidence one gains in playing the songs they enjoy themselves. To see smiles appear on faces of students, and hear how excited they were the first time they played a popular song they know and love well in front of some else. Read More

I have been playing the Cello for about 9 years. I began in my home country of Chile when I was in the 2nd grade. My father is a composer and renown musician so music has been a part of my life since day one. I recently began a music career as an artist, as a result I now have music on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Pandora, Amazon and other music stores. Read More

I was brought up classically trained on the Suzuki books but I am completely flexible. If you have or have heard of a set of books you like we can use that too. If you don't know how to read music we can focus part of the lesson on music theory and the rest on learning from recordings and playing by ear. Each genre has their own set of rules and depending on how strict those rules are I will be equally strict accordingly. Read More

I began teaching music in high school when I worked as an teacher's assistant during group piano classes. I started teaching private cello and piano lessons shortly thereafter and continued to do so through college. After graduation, teaching music truly became my passion. I've worked extensively with private students of all ages. I taught private lessons, group classes, and sectionals to students through several different school orchestra programs. I've maintained a private studio with students of all ages and skill levels. Read More

I typically use the Applebaum String Builder method books, and supplement with solo pieces as needed. I encourage regular practice, as students who feel they are progressing and doing well tend to enjoy their instrument more. As they become more advanced, they are encouraged to start giving opinions on what they want to learn. One thing that makes my studio unique is that I don't just teach how to play an instrument, I teach my students how to practice. Read More

I want my students to have fun, but to also engage in very structured learning. All students must find time to practice during the week, but the parents must be a huge part of helping their child learn this new instrument. We will set weekly, realistic goals for each lesson. During the lesson, we will review the last concept that was learned, go over the lesson for the day and then create a lesson for the following week and be sure that each lesson is explained and understood.
