I completed my Master's degree at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under the guidance of Prof. Tamara Gabarashvili (Tchaikovsky competition 5th prize 1966). Since 2004 until 2015 I was a principal cellist of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. Since 2004 I am teaching private cello lessons and also working at music schools and pre-school places, and I am also a member of a string quartet "Iberi." I always believed I'd be in an orchestra one day, but when I ended up at the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree and then Northwestern for my Master's, my interests began to change and I began to realize that I am not truly a section player, but more of a soloist. After a brief stint in LA, I made the move to NYC to join The Inventions Trio with my bandmates and jazz heroes, Marvin Stamm and Bill Mays, and to start subbing in the hit Broadway musical, Spring Awakening...and the rest is history!!
