For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series. Once student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate such as Suzuki for their first performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in or what goals they aim for. Based on their levels, I try to introduce repertoire which they might be interested in and to motivate them to engage themselves with the lessons and practicing in order to achieve what they want from learning music. My professional orchestra career began in Bulgaria at The National Radio Orchestra and at the same time I was holding the first chair as a principal at New Symphony Orchestra with conductor and music director - Rosen Milanov –presently assistant conductor of Philadelphia Philharmonic. In 1984 I was a music instructor for the Canadian Forces School of Music in Esquimalt British Columbia. Over the last three decades I have taught one-on-one lessons and ensembles at all levels including Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. More recently I founded MusiCali Kids with my wife, servicing families with the award winning program Music Together.
