My love for music and passion for teaching has given me the best experiences of my life since I started my clarinet career in 6th grade. I strived to ensure to meet and exceed the expectations of a clarinetist in middle school in high school. I furthered my career by auditioning for and making Marines as a clarinetist. In high school I had the great privilege of being selected as the Principal clarinetist in the Minnesota All-State Band. We performed at the summer camp designed for these groups and recreated our performance at Orchestra Hall, home of the Minnesota Orchestra, the following spring. Clarinet is my primary instrument and first love. I also teach saxophone and beginning flute and hope to add other woodwinds in the future. I like to use the Rubank Elementary,Intermediate, and Advance method books depending on the skill level. I would say I focus on the fundamentals, embouchure, tone, air, technique, and etc. Having a strong basic will get the students to play anything they want in the long term. For example, having a strong correct embouchure is really important in playing the clarinet. It is more easier to play the clarinet and you will sound like a rock star!I try to make anything fun because music should be fun! Read More
