I have been playing clarinet for 12 years and very passionate and motivated by music. I love working and sharing my knowledge with students. I have graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance May 2020. I have performed in Mexico, Belgium, and around the United States. I did the same in the Marines to my fellow Marines as well those in high schools near my duty station. For beginners, I like to start with the Rubank method books, which progress pretty rapidly. I also focus on tone production and scales as we move along at the level of the individual student. I gauge the speed at which we move based on the student in question, and prepare a practice routine for each student based on how much time they have to practice each day. For an intermediate to advanced student, I work with more the more advanced Rubank method books, and suggest solo literature appropriate for them to prepare. Read More

I teach music, not just instruments. I try to develop a broad appreciation for music that will stay with my students wherever they go in life. I take an individualized approach based on learning styles and strengths. I believe in positive reinforcement, especially with younger students!
