Music is a big part of everything that I do. I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1992. I have performed in ensembles, for weddings and special events, and provided accompaniment services to other musicians. I have recently moved to the beautiful state of Florida, and love it here! New Mexico was my home prior to moving here. I have performed in many ensembles, and do solo recitals annually. My performance experience includes Symphony Orchestras, Pit Orchestras, Wind Ensembles, Chamber Music, Polka Band, Latin Band, Big Band, and I have been a guest soloist on several occasions. Their unique path will be a plan with proven techniques using a developed system based upon my experience of success. During the lesson, I want every student to understand the why behind the request. I am not a teacher who uses specific method books. I use books based on the student's musical preferences or sometimes none at all. A good technique is always emphasized. My area of expertise is Sight Reading. This is an essential aspect of learning to play any instrument. A good sight reader is always able to learn their pieces faster and be better performers. I began teaching during my college days instructing saxophone at ASM studios in Avalon instructing school level students. At the same time I began instructing privately teaching a few adult students. My K-12 students in the past have been accepted to performing arts high schools, college music programs, All-State bands, All-County bands, youth orchestras, and earned superior ratings at Solo & Ensemble festivals.
