Hello, my name is Patrick. I am a professional drummer, percussionist and educator in the Boston Metro area. I received a B.A. in History from Loyola University in New Orleans (class of '08). While in New Orleans I studied under the Louisiana Philharmonic's premier timpanist, Jim Atwood. I also studied with New Orleans drumming legends Johnny Vidacovich, Wayne Moreau, and Stanton Moore. Here in Boston I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music. Read More

I began teaching as soon as I could. My dad held piano lessons out of our house and inspired me to teach guitar (the only instrument my dad wasn't terribly good at). I also taught trumpet, French horn and piano throughout high school. When I got to college, no one at Berklee really needed lessons in instruments anymore, however, I spent a lot of time tutoring kids in Music Theory, Arranging and other more technical aspects of music. My method of teaching focuses on Technique and Musicality. No matter the level of student, these areas can be practiced and results will be heard thru the focus on these. Reading music is taught, but naturally along with the focus on the two areas mentioned before. For example, Eddie wants to learn ACDC's "Back in Black". Eddie will learn the drum part to this song by observing the written notation and by listening and call/response training. Read More
Instruments: Voice Drums
Teaching music has always been my number one passion and lifetime goal. Playing a musical instrument (including voice) is empowering and enriches the soul. I enjoy teaching all levels and welcome beginners with no previous musical training. Practicing is the most important regimen a student must learn and while it requires dedication and hard work, practicing your instrument should always be a pleasant and satisfying experience. A good practice schedule includes a warm up, technical exercises and exploring stylistic repertoire the student is interested in performing. Read More

Hi, I am a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and have been teaching drums, piano, and percussion for over 12 years. I focus on the fundamentals of teaching students how to read music and the rudiments, but try to balance this with just playing and having fun. I want all of my students to have fun, and stay interested in playing and growing as a musician. Read More

In my ongoing experience as a student I have learned that drum lessons, or any formal instruction on something artistic, must be representative of the art itself. To sit a young/beginning drummer down at a practice pad all day and force him/her to learn the basics, is to stifle that persons passion and desire to play the instrument. Of course, technique and basic drumming knowledge is of utmost importance, but it doesnt mean that real music cant be involved in a first lesson. Read More
