Setting goals is a very important practice for teaching. I am very easy going, kind and understanding. However, I expect there to be effort on the part of the student. I believe praise to be a better motivator than stoicism and I always make sure my students know when they are doing a good job and improving. There is nothing more rewarding than to see a student have a breakthrough on their instrument. Read More

The first few lessons will be to gauge where the student is at technically, as well as musically. I like to cater to the needs of the student. Lessons can be as fast paced, or slow moving as the student would like. The important thing is to be comfortable with a technique before introducing new ones. Like I stated earlier, lessons will also include a historical study element. Drumming is best taught through studying the great drummers and musicians who have already mastered the instrument. Teaching for me means to create a direct and unique relationship with each single student and at the same time allows me to help the student to find his own voice. In function of teacher and educator, I help students learn drums in function of different music situation, have preparation and find your own personality and sound. As an expert in my field, I look forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Read More

As a multi-instrumentalists, I use a cross disciplinary approach even when a student is only learning one instrument. I do make use of method books for beginners, and the specific book depends upon the instrument, but I have my own methods and materials which I utilize in my lessons. Building a repertoire is encouraged, and I use the material to assist in instructing in theory and musical communication. My students are taught to be self-sufficient, by way of practice, study, and cultivating an "ear." Read More

My methods of Teaching are simple; Teach according to the knowledge, experience, and ability of the student. Anything can be accomplished! The way I teach is a simple A, B, C method, by spelling out the best learning styles for an unsocial student, and a group of students. Lessons vary from beginner lessons of simple reading, to expert lessons of how to apply fills, patterns, chops, and time signature differences. Read More

I love seeing and hearing my students get something and play it well. It is more rewarding than any amount of money. I encourage my students to play and perform as much as possible even if it is just in their own home. I keep the lessons well paces but I am not afraid to go off in a different direction if it suits the student. Music should be inspiring and should leave the student always wanting to learn more.
