I am a professional drummer originally from the San Francisco East Bay area. I started percussion instruction in elementary school at age 9, proceeding through high schools playing in the concert, symphonic, jazz, and marching bands. At 19 I joined the US Army, where I honorably served my enlistment, and continued to play professional gigs around central Texas. In 2003 I moved to Los Angeles to study at the M.I. At the age of nine I began my interest in drums in particular. My father was a great pianist, choir director, teacher, vocal instructor, and all around musician. So growing up in this atmosphere has helped me through the years. I have been officially a drummer since I turned ten, and have continued to play in church, bands ( including my own) and for different events of different styles. My teaching experience is minimal at this point in my career as I have just graduated music school and am now making a shift into the world of teaching drums. During my days in college I volunteered with a music program called SLAM! to teach music to students at TS King Middle School in Silver Lake, CA. I feel as an instructor I really gained a grasp for teaching through the SLAM! program, I also learned that I am very comfortable teaching students of all ages. Read More

Since then I have been participating in many music education programs in Elementary, Midlle, and High Schools as wel as Continuation Schools both for LAUSD and as a staff member of CALARTS University. Since aquiring my own music studio in Porter Ranch, California in 2005 I was able to consistently offer private drum classes at my location where I feel I can provide the right equipment and right atmosphere to my students to be able to enjoy and benefit as much as possible from our teaching session.
