This includes scales learned withing the Classical idiom as well as the Contemporary music idiom which includes all styles of music. Students regardless of their preferred style of music will be encouraged to learn some elementary classical music in order to facilitate and reinforce good technique, reading and interpretation.     I have now been giving private lessons for around 8 years and enjoy it very much. I love to help people grow and watch them enjoy the gift they have. In my lessons, students learn techniques, concepts, musicianship, rudiments/fundamentals, and much more. I resigned from a job in 2015 to pursue my music career which includes teaching drums. My teaching method is different depending on the abilities of each student. For beginning students, I use the Haskell W. Harr Drum Method Books 1 2, Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone, and The All-American Drummer 150 Rudimental Swing solos by Charley Wilcoxin. Once I feel like a student is strong enough on the snare drum, I will then work with them on developing limb independence on the drum set. All of the snare drum method books that I use with my students will eventually be adapted for drum set. Read More
