Hello! I am a highly energetic and passionate music educator from the central Florida area. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with a wide range of instrumental students in and out of the classroom. My primary focus is percussion (contemporary and orchestral), but I am proficient on several other instruments as well. My main goal as an educator is to help students understand the fundamentals of music at a higher level and fine tune their skills on their chosen instrument. Read More

I ask the students to set a goal at the beginning of each class that they want to succeed in for that days lesson. After that i give them the tools they need to become a success musician. My methods of teaching vary depending on the age and skill level of the student. If the student is very young, I start them on simple exercises Designed by me. As they progress, I begin to implement certain books that Ive used in my career. There are three books I use religiously, Stick Control Ted Reeds syncopation book and N.A.R.D snare drum studies. As the student advances I choose books which will help them achieve the appropriate technique for the appropriate style they want to master. Read More

I started Piano lessons at 6 and quickly received classical training to 12 years old. I have been playing professionally since 14 years old. I have enjoyed a freelance career as a music teacher, composer. performer, recording engineer. producer, and a multi instrumentalist. While being exposed to the intricacies of many styles of music growing up, I have developed a life long passion for studying those different genres. I attended Edward Williams College and Fairleigh Dickenson University where I studied Piano and Guitar, and graduated with an Associates Degree in Media Arts. Read More

Lessons are usually pretty casual. I like to use a book so that we always have a clear path. Students can request that their lessons be more vigorous (say if you're auditioning for a part or instrument for some activity) but otherwise, I tend to keep things more laid back. Read More

For students who are young children, I typically start by addressing the importance of playing what you hear. So, I will teach them beginner classics, such as Twinkle Twinkle and Merry had a Littl eLamb, but I also teach them what thunder sounds like, or a siren, and etc. by drawing on everyday life obejects that create noise. I then move on to learn my student's interests to device a method of positive reinforcement if they complete their homework asssignments or answer questions correctly, usually in the past this has been candy.
