For beginners who are young children under 7 years of age, I always start with Bastien Piano Basics Primer A together with the theory book primer A then Primer B (piano and theory). Once the student has progressed to gain fundamentals I introduce Alfred’s Basic piano Library Prep Course with the theory book as well. During this residency I was able to give private woodwind lessons to beginners-intermediate players, conduct, and co-lead wind ensemble rehearsals. Since graduating San Jose State University in 2023, where I worked as a music theory tutor for all undergraduate theory classes, from beginning theory through advanced counterpoint and orchestration; I have also started teaching music theory, composition, and sound recording remotely to all levels in my own studio. I started to teach piano in college, helping other beginning students around me achieve their goals. I slowly worked my way out to the community, teaching students of all ages at local churches in the area.
