My passion for music and instruments dates back far more then I could remember. From a very young age, I have loved the idea and bringing joy into people's lives through music. For me, music has always been a means of expression, a way to express my love, passion, and commitment to life and this world. I enjoy all different types of music, however, I am a purist, and I have found that R&B as well as Merengue and Salsa are a few of the ones I enjoy teaching and learning about. Read More

The rest is up to the student. The 80/20 rule applies here. 20% is up to the teacher, 80% is up to the student. Lessons are fun and informative. I not only teach how to play the instrument but I teach how to practice correctly. My students know they can contact me anytime with questions via phone, text, or email. I have a lot invested in each and every student and I want everyone to know it. Read More

I teach all of my students how to read music as well as play by ear. I think both things are important. I focus on both technique and playing musically. Dynamics are something that many drummers ignore. To truly be a good drummer you must listen to the other instruments around you. Read More

I teach from a flexible curriculum depending on the student's goals and interests. If someone wants to learn technique, music theory, songwriting, how to play Taylor Swift songs, arranging, composing, confidence, et cetera we will work on what is driving them to take lessons and learn! If the student is younger I will provide them with an organized syllabus and “fun” damentals! If they are older, I will help them find a way to stick with the music and accomplish their goals. I like to think of myself as a teacher that suits the student's needs. And since every one has a different way of playing an instrument, I will build a specific "curriculum" for each student. I am not a strict sort of teacher, I like to talk about what we are learning, show musical examples, play examples and generally just have a good flow in class. The most important thing is to learn that playing an instrument should be a fun, entertaining learning experience. Read More

My teaching approach is very relaxed and focused at the same time. I always strive to make every lesson motivating and fun, depending on the level and the interests of each student. Often times I like to discuss and converse with my students about parallel topics of life as analogies to create a more comprehensive and cohesive understanding of any given assignment or concept that the students are trying to achieve or learn.
