Hi I’m Gabriel, and I’m a self taught full time musician. I picked up my first instrument at age 9 and began playing professionally at age 12. In 2016 I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a bachelors of arts degree in instrumental performance. Since I began my professional career I’ve played for a wide range of local, national and international artists. My love for playing music is unexplainable and my love for helping others achieve their musical goals is just as satisfying. Read More

For my intermediate students, I will teach them all 12 major keys and the circle of fourths and fifths and how they interplay with song writing and chord progressions. I will then teach them the chords of the scales and turn the chords into progressions and into songs. For my advanced students who know all of their scales and chords, I will tailor the lesson around what they seek to learn and improve on. Read More

I love treating each student as they are. Every student is their own unique artist and my job is to help shape them and to give them confidence in their vision. I view my job as a tour guide pointing the students in the right directions while not restricting to any particular instrument/genre. Book work, ear training/playing to tunes, improv, technical focus are all aspects of how I teach. Read More

This includes everything from vintage equipment, different playing techniques, drum and cymbal construction and their effect on sound, and many others. Now, my main focus is on spreading this information, education other musicians, and most importantly, helping to extend my passion for music and the drumset to everyone interested in learning to play the instrument. In my lessons, I like to start by helping the student really fall in love with drumming. You should only take lessons if you love and enjoy what you are doing. Then, I like to lay down a good foundation of rudiments and technique. I believe that by having a good understanding of rudiments and technique, it will greatly help eliminate many future setbacks when learning new/different styles. Without setbacks, the future always looks brighter. Read More
