I'm a driven instructor who absolutely loves working with new students and sharing my passion of music. In May 2017 I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music (Drum Set Performance Music Production). Since relocating to Boston from Scotland I have been given the opportunity to perform and tour all of across Europe and Northern America with some talented up coming artists, ranging from touring the West Coast with alt/rock artist Chloe Jane to touring the United Kingdom with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. In the begginging stages I teach the student proper technique so there will be no bad habits building Dexterity,Fluency and Retaining the information given in each lesson. In my experience as a teacher, I have worked on a personal level with my students encouraging regular practice. It's important to get to know the student and keep track of their evolution. I notice that the students who advance the most are the ones who experience playing with other people. Possibly one of the best ways to learn music is being in a band. I set fun goals and I challenge each student every step of the way to help them reach them. I point out their strengths yet I keep a close eye on their weaknesses and work with them to eliminate any all bad habits in playing instruments.
