I first started teaching friends kids and it grew from there and more people asked for lessons and I made more time for it and really feel in love with teaching. We play the full drum set right away, at the first lesson. It is not necessary to own a drum set for 3-4 months, in which time students practice at home on couches or beds where pillows represent the different parts of the drum set. I can offer advice when it comes to equipment purchases. I have a method in place for my beginners: a combination of reading, technique and coordination exercises, jamming with favorite songs, and studying their favorite drummers. Read More
