I am a self taught musician who started learning in my teen years. I graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2021. I have been performing since a young age, starting on drums, and then guitar and voice. I am interested in many genres of music, including traditional, blues, folk, rock and punk. Currently I play in multiple bands, and have a band of my own, and a solo project. Read More

My teaching style is very thorough and patient. I welcome mistakes of course! It is not about how often you fall down, but about how you get up again. If you want to work hard, I will work hard as well. My students know the importance of regular practice in order to build dependable muscle memory in their playing. In a lesson we will spend half the amount of time working on technical building exercises and half the time working on repertoire. Read More

For me, witnessing the "ah-hah" moment in a student's face is priceless. It means that a certain concept or idea has been understood by the student. I use the first lesson to find out what the student is inspired by and what aspect of their playing they wish to improve on depending on their age and skill level. Once I find out what inspires them, I'll be better informed as how to keep them inspired and moving towards certain goals. Read More

For my younger students who may not have musical goals I keep the instruction very easy going and well rounded. For my advanced and more focused students I let them set their own goals and then help them in every way I can. I want my students to learn how to play like themselves and not like me so if a certain aspect of the lessons does not work for them I make adjustments and we keep moving forward. Read More

I like the student to pick their area of interest of musical genre. From there, we develop the style in accordance to the students desire.Chord theory, structure, soloing are all part of the training.Students pick the songs and we take it from there. While method books are available, most are boring examples of how to attain artistry. In our lessons, I use proven individual methods that will enhance the students ability to achieve. Read More

For all students, I start off with the basic fundamentals. Proper setup, posture, stick position, and technique. I then will hand write some examples and assess the student. From there I usually will use Alfred's Beginning Drum Set Method. Once the student has a grasp on that, I will focus on rudimental drumming and snare rhythms to accompany the drum fill portion of the Alfred's book. From there we move into more advanced books that include jazz drumming and complex rock beats as well as learning popular songs of the student's choice. Read More
